About Us

GMMPB practices weekly on Monday evenings at Vineyard Public School, on the corner of Windsor Rd and Bandon Rd, Vineyard, New South Wales.

The Pipe Section is led by Pipe Major Barry Gray, with Drum Sergeant Michael Smith leading our Drummers. We currently have two competing bands in 4B and Juvenile, where younger band members can learn the basic pipe band skills. We regularly participate in parades, public performances, corporate events, functions, concerts & competitions.

The Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band is aware that many more young people are interested in learning piping and drumming, and as such we partner closely with the Sydney School of Piping and Drumming to coordinate a professional teaching program for students, who can learn an instrument in a professional classroom environment and have opportunity to learn by doing alongside GMMPB members.

We always welcome people who are new to piping or drumming, and we are also keen to welcome experienced players interested in being members of a progressive band committed to improvement and development.

GMMPB sets no official age requirements, and our current members range is from 8 to 84 years old.

If you are interested in joining the band as an experienced member, please contact us at info@gmmpb.com.au.

If you are interested in learning an instrument through our partnership with the Sydney School of Piping and Drumming, please contact Pipe Major Barry Gray directly on pmbarrygray@gmail.com
