Dhanyil (Dan) Jackson
Dhanyil joined the band in March 2019.
He is a student at Scots PGC Warwick Qld, and took up the advertised position of Lead Drummer for the Grade 3 band. He is Scots PGC Warwick's Lead Drummer.
H e also plays with Warwick Thistle Pipe Band and has guested in New Zealand with Christchurch Metropolitan.
He has been playing snare for a few years and is a student of Alexander Mansfield.

Clare joined the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe Band in September 2016, after seeing the band perform at one of their Alba Gu Brath concerts.
She is currently the #1 band Bass Drummer as well as the Juvenile Bass Drummer. Her first comets with the #1 band was in Grade 2 at the Bridge Of Allan contest in Scotland in 2017.
Clare also plays the Saxophone and is in an ALF team.
Mel started playing in 2007 at Lithgow with the Lithgow Highland Pipe Band.
She played both tenor and bass with Lithgow. She then moved to the Australian Federal Police Pipes & Drums and has toured with them and played at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Mel's first layout with GMM was as a guest tenor drummer for the bands performance with Sir Paul McCartney on Dec 2017.
Mel joined the band in February 2018 and has enjoyed learning the G3 material and performing at the various gigs GMM does and at shows and concerts such as Ian Cooper's PROMS shows.
Mel is also our learner and Grade 4 Tenor Tutor as well as being Band Secretary.
Sukhpreet first played with Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe Band at the 2014 Australian & South Pacific Championships when they won G4 event. She also played in HNV when they won the Australian G3 Championships Drumming sash in 2016.
She was a member of our touring drum corps when GMM competed in the UK in 2017.
In 2018 she guested for the season with the Grade 3A band Coalburn, where GMM have had several members play with over the last few years.
Sukhpreet lives in Kuala Lumpur and is the Lead tenor with the Malaysian Sihk Pipe Band.
Shona commenced learning the Tenor Drum with HNV in 2012.
Shona's first band performance was on Anzac Day 2013. Other HNV band experiences include; in 2015,winning the Juvenile NSW State Championships, & being Grade 3 runners up at the South East Asia Champs. That year she also won both the ‘C’ & ‘D’ NSW State Solo Championships, in Tenor Drumming.
When she started high school she become a boarder at Scots PGC Warwick in Queensland. Whilst at school Shona changed to snare drum under tutor Alexander Manfield. In 2018 their band placed 6th.at the European Championships, in Novice Juvenile B Grade.
Shona’s mum, Sally (also a piper in our #1 band), mentioned to Shona our advert seeking snare drummers for the #1 band, and Shona decided she would like the challenge. Shona also plays the piano, guitar, rugby 7s & swims.
So we look forward to welcoming Shona back to her next contest with GMM on the 31st March 2019 as part of our snare line in the #1 band.
Talia joined the GMM in March 2019.
She is student at the Scots Warwick School band and saw our advert for new Grade 3 players.
Talia's first contest will be on the 31st March 2019 in Sydney.

Lead Tenor Drummer
Michael joined the Hawkesbury City Pipe Band in 2008.
He had previously been a member of the G4 band at the City of Blacktown Pipe Band and came the Hawkesbury City Pipe Band at the start of the rejuvenation period.
Michael has been our Sydney based Lead Tenor from 2008 - Present . He also plays the snare drummer and is often seen playing this instrument at engagements and concerts if required.
Michael played Bass for the juvenile band until 2013 and has taught Tenor, Bass and Snare drumming throughout the years.
Michael has been bandsmen of the year on several occasions and has been a past member of our business Management Team.
Michael enters Solo competitions regularly with winning results such as; State championships in Bass and Tenor drumming and also was the Inaugural Australasian Young Tenor Drummer of the year in 2011 and the 2017/18 Australia B Grade Tenor Drum Champion.
Micheal will spend from May 2019 - November 2019 in Scotland honing his skills and playing at the World Championships Solo's as the recipricantt os the BBM scholarship award.
Makkie first played with Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe Band at the 2014 Australian Championship when the band won G4.
Makkie lives in Hong Kong and like her husband Tony Ma is one of our long distance members.
